There are many new exciting events happening this year at the Fall Festival, as well as events that have been taking place for several years.

At 8:30, there will be a 5K Fun Run-Walk sponsored by Little Eagles Basketball.  Registration is at 7:30am at their booth on the square.  Registration fee is $15 and two canned food items.  The first 30 entries will get a t-shirt!

There will be a horseshoe tournament behind US Bank.  There were a lot participants in the tournament last year and it was an overall success!

The Chili Cook-off was a big hit last year with 14 chili entries.  First place prize winner was Mary Williams, and she'll be at the Festival this year from 9-10 preparing her chili.  We are doubling the prize money this year and expect a big turn-out for the event.  Entry fee is $5 for singles and $10 for groups.  Organizations and businesses are welsome! And if you in the mood for Chili, come by our booth after 11 and pay only $2 for all the chili you can eat!  We'll also be selling hot dogs for $1 to go with it.

The Talent Show was a huge success again last year, and will continue on in the 09' festival.  Entry is free, and kids from 2-18 can enter the day of the Festival at the Chamber booth on the courthouse lawn, or by calling Jessica Palmer at 417-259-2908.

There were over 20 entries in the Guitar Hero contest last year, and it will be another event for the kids to enjoy this year.  Entry is $2 per person.  Prizes are $30 for 1st, and $20 for 2nd.  There will be 2 competitions.  One played on hard and one played on expert.

The pie auction was a big hit in 08' with over 10 pies!  Pie makers included:  Ruby Lemons, Vera Helsley, Cheryl Helsley, Helen Dixon, Ilene Shaver, Jenny Helsley, Rita Shaver, and Janette Hudson.  These ladies made some awesome pies!!  We will have the pie auction again in 09'.

Tangles the clown will be here at 12:15 to perform a magic show for all ages.  It's totally FREE and will be a fun experience for everyone.

New this year will be the Fall Festival Queen Corination.  We have joined in effort with Hartville and Grovespring schools and will have 21 candidates from Preschool to Seniors in High School, one candidate from each grade.  There are four divisions for the Hartville girls, and two for the Grovespring girls.  That means we're going to crown 6 girls!  Come and see all the girls dressed up and on stage while we announce the 2009 Fall Festival Queen winners.
